REPLACEMENT THEOLOGY HAS RESULTED FROM THE ALLEGORISING and SPIRITUALISING OF SCRIPTURE, ESPECIALLY BIBLICAL PROPHECY, INSTEAD OF STANDING ON THE LITERAL INTERPRETATION.

The Lord Jesus Christ understood and believed the Old Testament literally. From His words in the Gospels He was clearly a ‘Premillennialist’!!

The Lord Jesus Christ referred to Himself as the “Son of Man” many times. In Matthew 25:31-46 He speaks of His Second Coming to be enthroned on David’s throne in Jerusalem to judge the living nations. Daniel chs 2 & 7 portray Him as the ‘Son of Man’ receiving a Kingdom from the Ancient of Days, coming as the ‘Stone’ to crush and ‘blow-away’ all Gentile powers in order then to set up His Kingdom. Christ will be King of Israel and as Simeon prophesied in Luke 2:32, Christ will be the ‘Glory of His people Israel’.

It will not be the work of the Church to ‘bring in the Kingdom’. Messiah Christ will, be the only one to bring that in when He comes to earth again and ‘His feet shall stand upon the Mount of Olives to become King over all the earth’. (Zechariah 14: 4 & 9).

Jewish people expected a fulfilment, literally, of the Messianic Kingdom promises in the Old Testament. The words of Jesus in Matt.23:39 and 26:29. ‘Kingdom’ there means His earthly rule upon His return to reign. Jesus told His disciples they would ‘sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel in His Kingdom’. Luke 22:29-30.

COVENANT THEOLOGY

is the view held by most Evangelical Christians – though they may not realize it, by name. They hold almost entirely to the Amillennial view of interpreting Scripture, whilst a few hold to the Postmillennial view. Reformed Churches hold to the Covenant theology views which is opposed to Dispensational theology which is very largely Premillennial, interpreting the whole of Scripture literally, Bible prophecy in particular. Covenant theology and generally Amillennialism is the ROOT CAUSE OF REPLACEMENT THEOLOGY.
